I dont have children (Yes I should watch the video to get pointers) But surely they have plenty of time to learn that, I think seven is too young. |

Seven might be a tad young but a significant number of children are starting puberty by nine years old these days. |

I have a 3, 6 and 8 year old. I would not want any of them to see this at the moment. Why schools want to take away the innocence of childhood at the first opportunity is something that I have never understood. My kids know that babies come from tummies and they know (well maybe not the 3yo) what boobs are for. They don't know how babies get there and to me, they don't need to know yet. If they asked me, I would tell them without going into specific details. I certainly wouldn't mention a penis getting stiff and a vagina getting slippery and sliding it in.
I also think that making a video in such a light hearted manner is somewhat counter-productive and might actually lead to kids aping their parents and trying it out sooner than they should. While I am not a puritan, I don't particularly want my kids having sex before 16. They have the rest of their lives to do it (unless they get married and have 3 kids!). I did get caught by my 6yo, and she asked why daddy was on top of mummy (boring of us I know, and not cowgirl as in the video) and we told her that we were just having a big cuddle. |

7 is too young to talk about puberty, never mind to watch videos on sex. Maybe 10 or 11, but even then that looks like its going too far. |

10 or 11 is too late many children have reached puberty by that age now. |

They may have started puberty, but so what? At least, for a boy, they already vaguely know the basics so what's the problem with waiting a little?
For a girl, I don't know when they start periods but perhaps when that point is reached the mother can give some basic information and save the nitty-gritty for until they reach ten or so. I mean, it's not like they're going to start reproducing right away! |
