The UK Debate Reputations
Every member of the forum has the ability to use the reputation system to award points to other members for their posts. The award can be a positive one or a negative one, depending on your opinion of the post. The reputation of a given member should not be viewed as an indication of his or hers debating skills of course, only you can decide that.Awarding Reputation Points
If you strongly agree with a members post you can award a reputation point to that member. If, however, you strongly disagree with a members post you can deduct a point from their reputation.
Before you award a point to a member for a post they have made please ask yourself if the post really deserves one.
- A positive point should only be awarded for exceptionally insightful posts.
- A negative point should only be awarded if the post CONTENT (NOT the poster) is so utterly wrong as to deserve a de-rep.
Spite, malice, triviality, personality clashes, assumption, or derision are NOT valid reasons. - Comments made while awarding reps are displayed as well so please keep things civil.
Please Note 2: If you use the negative reputation system as a weapon (neg repping for spite, malice, triviality, personality clashes or just because someone disagrees with you) you will lose the disagree function.
